About the research
The survey “Ukrainian migrants in Poland in the time of war” is the first stage of the Research Program “Between Ukraine and Poland” conducted at the University of Warsaw. The aim of this program is to build the knowledge base about the circumstances that Ukrainian migrants find themselves in Poland as well as changes they experience in the turbulent times of war in Ukraine. As part of this Program, we are planning to conduct a series of questionnaires and qualitative studies pertaining to the everyday life problems of migrants in Poland. Although nowadays people fleeing the war require the most attention, our study covers the entire Ukrainian group living or temporarily staying in Poland. Russian aggression has changed the lives of all Ukrainians.

The subject of the research

The first part of the research consistutes survey, which was distributed in the period between July and September 2022. The topics that were covered are following:

  • the circumstances/reasons of migration;
  • work-related situation and family matters of migrants;
  • the scope of assistance received and provided by migrants;
  • their most urgent needs;
  • as well as how they feel in Poland and among the Polish people.

Research outcomes
The information collected via survey will be used for reports and recommendations for government, non-governmental institutions and organizations. Also, the collected information will be reflected in the scientific papers. We will also publish the most important results in the media in order to inform and reach to Poles and Ukrainians, living in Poland.
