Programme

The Research Programme “Between Ukraine and Poland” conducted at the University of Warsaw, aims to build knowledge about the situation of Ukrainian migrants in Poland and its changes over time. As part of the program, a series of surveys and qualitative studies will be directed towards groups of migrants interested in sharing their experiences and opinions on issues related to everyday life in Poland.

  • In the first survey of the programme, conducted in the summer of 2022, more than 7,500 individuals from Ukraine living in Poland participated. At the beginning of 2023, the second study titled “Skills and Professional Aspirations of Ukrainian Migrants” was launched, which included an online survey and qualitative interviews.

  • In the coming months, further studies are planned, addressing issues such as relationships with Poles, daily living needs, employment, family life, health, and interactions with Polish institutions. The topics will be adapted to the changing situation, with input from migrant support organisations in Poland and willing participants through consultations and discussions organized by the research team.

  • The collected information will be used to prepare reports and recommendations for government, local, and non-governmental institutions, as well as for scientific analyses. Participation in the programme is voluntary, and participants can withdraw at any time.
