About the Study
„The role of income comparisons, the size and composition of the reference group in the decision to take up seasonal work abroad” is a study commissioned by the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw. Its aim is to gain a better understanding of the conditions under which decisions to leave Ukraine were made, as well as to explore initial experiences related to labour migration to Poland.
The survey is addressed to individuals who were already in Poland before 2022 – regardless of whether their reason was employment, education, running a business, family life, or other circumstances.
Number of respondents: 300 people
Study topics
- the financial situation of respondents at the time of making the decision to leave Ukraine
- the circumstances surrounding the first departure from Ukraine and the first arrival in Poland for work purposes
- the type of work undertaken by respondents after arriving in Poland
- the influence of the presence of close relatives or acquaintances in Poland on the decision to migrate
